About Us

The KEY Project is based in the Kent Estuary area of Cumbria.  We aim to enable young people to ‘Unlock Their Potential’.  Our programme of work is designed to provide creative learning opportunities that appeal and engage with a wide range of young people within the community.  We are committed to being grounded in the community, and actively encourage and value the contribution of our local volunteers.

Our Structure

We are a registered charity, established as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.  We are run by a trustees committee that meets regularly.

We value high levels of youth participation and so our programme of youth work is youth led – being developed through a consultation process between young people and our professional youth work staff.

Our Vision and Values

Our vision is that young people in the area have the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

We will achieve our vision by engaging with young people to foster their personal, physical, social, and spiritual development and to enable them to make a positive contribution to the local community and to society.

Our core values are grounded in the Christian Faith: respect for each individual, justice, compassion, acceptance, love and equality for all, regardless of ethnicity, faith, gender, sexuality or ability.

Although we are a church-inspired organisation, we do not aim to recruit or convert young people to the Christian faith, we simply want to show the love of God by enabling young people to find security, purpose, and fulfilment in their lives.
