PAST ACHIEVEMENTS

Since 2015 Kent Estuary Youth Project (KEY) has offered youth provision with the aim of offering a varied programme of youth led projects with collaboration and engagement with local communities.

With continued support from local and national grant providers, KEY has established local groups, projects and initiatives. With some resilience, the project has continued through the COVID pandemic and now alongside the young people, continues to develop new ideas and strategies for the future.

Past Projects

2015- present KEY has longstanding relationships with Dallam school. Provision has changed with need, opportunity and requests from 1:1 support to community projects with the boarding students.

2015-present KEY has increased youth group provision in local communities and continues to develop new groups based on need and community collaboration.

2016- The young people from Arnside Youth Group successfully organised a carnival fundraiser to raise funds to for their group using their own initiatives and community collaboration.

2018- Alongside local communities and school, the young people developed an intergenerational art project requiring funding, workshops and art production.

2020-2021- KEY was required to cease most activities due to restrictions. The challenge of providing support was met with commitment from resourceful staff and volunteers, despite financial uncertainty and the difficulty of maintaining engagement.

2020-present KEY has established regular Holiday activity and Food (HAF) provision during school holidays.

2021-present KEY is committed to providing residential and day trips to locations and experiences supported or chosen by the young people.
