KEY has facilitated Youth provision for young people 11yrs+ on Friday evenings at the Educational Institute in Arnside since 2015. This was paused during COVID restrictions and is currently under consultation with the local community to re-establish the group and decide how it develops.

LEVENS

LEVENS Youth Provision

Levens Youth Group is starting on the 9th November. We are looking forward to meeting the young people and creating a new group with them. Every Tuesday at the Village Hall for Year7+

STORTH

Storth Youth Group

KEY has recently started a new youth group for 11+years held at Heron Hall in Storth village on Thursdays. The young people developed their own ideas for their provision, and, supported by KEY, launched the club over the summer with great success.

MILNTHORPE

Youth Café

We first opened in May 2017 after a core group of young people voted for this type of provision.

The Youth Café is a friendly, vibrant group of young people who take part in many different activities such as, giant games, gaming, arts, and crafts, just chill and listen to music, and group games.

We also provide food/snacks with the young people being involved with what is on offer.

Activities are always youth led – with youth workers offering support to facilitate activity ideas and discussion.

Throughout the year we may take part in or initiate different community projects which help promote social connections within our village.

The Youth Café has created a fun, safe space for the young people to be themselves, offer challenges, and support their personal development.

The young people have offered feedback on their youth group,

“I enjoy the Youth Café as I get on with the people”

“Being myself and not having to pretend”

“Meeting up with friends”

Milnthorpe Senior Youth Group

The group was developed for the older group members in Milnthorpe who wanted their own safe, separate space to provide a place for more mature discussion and youth led activity. Each week, this may be games, sports, arts, music, cooking and learning through discussion.

Throughout the year, there are opportunities to plan and be involved in day trips out, community activities, and social action projects.
